Photography, created to reproduce the material world in its reality and precision, will be asked to provide testimony of the immaterial and invisible.

Photography between science and art

La fotografia, fin dal suo avvento, ha avuto un ruolo insostituibile nella costruzione di una nuova storia visiva del mondo con particolare riferimento al procedere inarrestabile del pensiero scientifico e alla sua divulgazione. È con pari consapevolezza che registriamo l’assenza di momenti di riflessione collettiva attorno a questo tema. Da qui l’esigenza di colmare questo vuoto con la proposta di organizzare un festival internazionale che si concentri sulla fotografia e il suo rapporto fra Scienza ed Arte nella storia dell’uomo. La fotografia, tra le sue ambizioni, ha infatti anche quella di aver educato e comunque stimolato l'occhio umano a "vedere" sempre più in profondità, anche ciò che altrimenti sarebbe stato trascurato nel nostro vivere quotidiano. Come dimostra, la fotografia, di possedere un’ultra-vista? Vedendo quello che al nostro occhio era sfuggito. La sua vocazione è raccogliere tracce visive del mondo inquadrato dalle sue lenti in misura maggiore rispetto a quello che il fotografo le aveva chiesto di fare.

To participate in the selection you must send a photographic project.

Each author can submit up to a maximum of 3 projects.

The project selected to participate in the COSMO Festival -photography between science and art -will anyways be only one.
